In 2009, I painted over a dozen pet portraits. So far I have completed
three dog portraits this year and have 12 cat portraits to complete. With much gratitude and love, sweet Thea and Paul, for starting me down this path!

"Thea's Felines" - SOLD
Layered Canvases - Acrylic
My dear sweet friends Thea and
Paul David commissioned paintings of each of their eight feline family members resulting in a layered canvas with all the
paintings together. Most of the precious cats were rescued.
"Thea's Felines" - Sharu
6" x 6" Canvas - Acrylic
"Thea's Felines" - Joyful Noelle
6" x 6" Canvas - Acrylic
Noelle began a journey from South Africa to Atlanta to Colorado to Arkansas.
When I first started the painting of Nunu, I was having a little bit of trouble with the pose Thea and I agreed to.
Based on Thea's eloquent description of this courageous feline, I was not capturing what I thought were her best qualities:
strength, loyalty and love to Thea and Paul. I grabbed a new canvas and in 30 minutes her spirit began to emerge.
I emailed Thea to let her know I changed the pose and it was my desire to capture these three traits. Her response was:
"Your email brought me to tears– your commitment to show all Nunu’s qualities (strength, loyalty,
love) touched my heart deeply. After Nunu’s death we burned 3 candles for her strength, loyalty and love.
I don’t believe in co-incidences, so your thoughts on this are very precious to me." We
never discussed these qualities prior to me starting this painting. Isn't that amazing?!! It brings tears to my
eyes just writing this.
Nunu will
be forever missed!
"Thea's Felines" - Bear
6" x 6" Canvase - Acrylic
Imani, which means "faith",

a huge cat with very long black hair that is touched with strands of silver.
